Visit to Towneley Hall

Hey dolls! Sorry I haven't posted on here in a while, I have been so busy. My 4 year old cousin came up to visit us so we have been busy trying to entertain her. The other day we went to Towneley Hall in Burnley and it was so beautiful. These are just some of the pictures that I took whilst going round.

Skirt: Topshop - Top: F&F at Tesco - Cardigan: New Look - Shoes: Matalan

Due to my not posting on here as often as I used to, I have decided to try and do an OOTD post to encourage me to post more often. I thought this one would be a good post to start of with as it was such a lovely day out.

I hope you are all having a lovely week!

Just a quickie!

Top: Primark - Trousers: Topshop - Sandals: Topshop

Today was one of those days where I wanted to make an effort but I just didn't know what I wanted to wear. I eventually opted for my green trousers and a new top I bought from Primark. The top was in the sale at an amazing £2, so I bought 2, one in a cream colour and one in black. I know it looks a bit boring, but when winter comes and I can throw a massive chunky cardigan over the top I am sure it will look better.

I went to Manchester (again) to meet up with some of my University friends as I hadn't seen them for months! We had a wonder around and finally found ourselves in the window seats of Costa Coffee people watching. I can honestly say that there are some scary people in Manchester, and some that clearly got dressed in the dark. However there were some people who looked amazing! How people shop in heels I don't know but there were lots of women in six inch heels that looked fabulous!

Charity shop love!

Dress: Charity Shop - Cardigan: New Look

I bought this dress from a charity shop and I absolutely love it! I love the colours and the bands that go across the dress. It is also one of those dresses that you can dress up or dress down really easily. It isn't very often I find something in a charity shop that I really like but I have to say that this dress will be worn a hell of a lot!

What's in my garden?

So a lot of people on their blogs do a 'what's in my handbag' post or a 'what's on my desk post' so I decided to do a 'what's in my garden' post. The main reason for this is because currently my handbag only holds my purse and a packet of tissues which isn't exciting or blogworthy, and my desk is currently at uni where I am not. Therefore, I decided to show you guys what bits and pieces I have in my garden.

1. Flowers: We have a hell of a lot of flowers. My mother loves her flowers. All colours and varieties, big and small, plain and vibrant. These ones are some of my favourites.
2. Fairies: At the start of our garden, we have a small rockery which is home to a variety of fairies. They sit in beside the plants and rocks and generally just look pretty whilst bringing some magic into the garden.
3. Strawberries: Every year my mother grows strawberries. They are delicious! Only a few ever actually grow to full size but it makes you appreciate them that little bit more.
4. Gnomes: Now then, gnomes play a very important part in our garden. They are the garden protectors and look after all the flowers and the fairies when we aren't there. Personally, I find them a bit scary, but that is what you want in a garden protector right?! They ll have names and lets just say they aren't normal names.
5. Lanterns and Solar Lights: At night time when the moon and the stars are out, it is lovely to look out and see the garden lit up. As well as being good for the environment, some of the solar lights are disguised as rocks so they blend in with the rockery and other surroundings.
6. Ornaments: These are just a few of my favourite things that don't really fit into a certain category.

I hope this post hasn't bored you too much, but I thought I would share something a bit different.

Coral and Green?

Cardigan: New Look - Top: Topshop - Trousers: Topshop - Shoes: Matalan - Earrings: Primark
Hello Lovelies!!!! So it turns out that I really am a techno-moron! Just when I think I understand something it turns out that it wasn't what I thought or that I hadn't done it properly. Thanks to my lovely sister though I am back on track! (Until the next time)

So I am loving these trousers that I bought from Topshop. Aren't they pretty!?!? When I was in the shop I had no idea what I was going to wear with them, but at £22 (£19.80 with 10% student discount) I just couldn't say no! I tried on a few things and decided on another Topshop item, my coral colour strap top and my cardigan from New Look. I wasn't sure if it looked right or not so I thought  I would let you decide.

To take our pictures, my sister and I decided seeing as it was a nice day to go to our little local park. The first picture we took under this huge tree which is why it is a bit shady. It is a lovely little park to take pictures or go for a walk so we thought we would make the most of it.

I hope you are all well and are having a good week so far. I am going back to uni in a few weeks so need to make the most of being at home. Anyone starting uni or going back this September?

Winter Is Coming!

Jumper: Zara - Skirt: Topshop - Socks: Primark - Boots: H&M

Hello again!!!

I have been reading the Game of Thrones books and I am finally on the last one!!! I thought I would dedicate this post to the Starks of Winterfell who are my favourite characters in the book. Winter Is Coming are their words and I thought they fit in well with this outfit as this is probably going to be my favourite outfit for Autumn.

I am in love with my Topshop skirt and find it really easy to match things with Even though this outfit is a bit dark and  dull, I decided to make it look a bit better with frilly socks. I will be getting some new ones soon so might experiment with some different colours.

I have also jumped on the bandwagon with these hair bun doughnut thingies. At first I didn't like them because everyone was wearing them which meant everyone looked the same! However, my sister  Amy (aka Dolly Daydream) got one and I tried hers and I liked the way it looked. The only problem is that at the moment I struggle to make sure all my hair is wrapped up so my sister has to help with that bit.

I hope you are all well. Have you been watching/reading Game of Thrones? Who is your favourite family?

Drip drip drop little August shower!

Jumper: Ark - Skirt: Primark - Shoes: Matalan

So this is probably my new favourite outfit!I bought it from Manchester the other day (see post here) and I absolutely love it. At first I didn't know what to wear with this skirt but when you look closely at it there are some lovely colours worked into it.

As you may know, I am a massive jeans person. However recently I have been trying hard to wear more skirts and dresses. So when I put my jeans on the other day I felt really strange! I don't know about where you guys are, but up here in the North the weather has been very wet and windy. I am a bit weird in that I love the smell of the rain and love listening to it when I am going to sleep.

Hope you are all doing well and are enjoying your holidays!

Manchester Buys!

Skirt: Primark - Jumper: Ark - Trousers: Topshop - Crop Top: Primark - PJ Bottoms: Primark - Earrings: Primark

So...guess who went to Manchester!!!!! Yep, me! And I bought some lovely items! I walked into Primark and saw this skirt. It immediately caught my eye and so in the basket it went. Next I saw the crop top so in that went, and finally the PJ bottoms and earrings found themselves in there too.

As we walked around Manchester I saw quite a few things that I liked but for some reason I didn't want to spend my money. Therefore I decided to be strict and only buy things I knew I needed. This list consisted of jumpers and trousers. I found this jumper at half price in Ark and it was the last in my size....FATE! Next we visited Topshop and, well, I could have bought the whole shop but you know...on a budget and well that wouldn't be very nice for the other customers. Instead I chose to buy these amazing trousers which are high waisted and fit perfectly. I am always fond of buying trousers and jeans from Topshop as I like their style and I know they fit  me well.

I don't really have much to add other than that I hope everyone is having a good summer!

Comfort outfit

Cardigan: New Look - Cami Top: Topshop - Jeans: H&M - Shoes: Matalan

Today I opted for comfort over style. I wasn't going anywhere nice or doing anything in particular so I decided to wear my jeans, top and cardigan. Even though it has been wet and windy lately, it has still been warm.

This top from Topshop was £15 and probably one of my favourites. I love the colour and the fabric and how it matches with pretty much everything I own.

In other news I am off to Manchester tomorrow! That means more buys and more posts!

Charity Shop Buys!

All bought from various local charity shops.

Charity shops!!! I can honestly say that I love charity shops. Not only does it feel good to be giving money to charity but it is also an opportunity to grab some amazing bargains.

I saw this dress on a mannequin and immediately fell in love with it. I have nothing else similar to it and really hoped it would fit. IT DID! It was £5 and money well spent.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of my favourite composers. I adore his work in Phantom of the Opera and Evita. When I saw this I was uncertain whether to buy it or not, but at 99p I couldn't refuse.

Finally, one cannot have too many books! I have been looking for this book for weeks as I have heard it is really good. I love the classics such as Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights and Northanger Abbey so this is a nice little addition to my classic family.

Are you into musicals or classic books? Which are your favourites?
